Accidents can happen to anyone, anytime. That’s a life lesson pop singer Meghan Trainor had to learn the hard way.
Scary Accident
According to sources, the 26-year-old musician’s father, Gary, recently got into a vehicular accident where he was struck by a car in what appears to be a hit and run.
He was transported to a local hospital following what Trainor described as a ‘very scary’ accident. At the time, Gary was crossing a busy Los Angeles, according to TMZ.
Since then, the singer has been by her father’s side. In an Instagram post, she thanked the people who have been praying for Gary’s health and recovery.
She then ended the short message by calling him the strongest man she knows. Her post was accompanied by a photo of them smiling.
As of the latest updates from the singer’s representative, Gary is already in a stable condition.
Close Relationship
The recent incident is definitely a lot to deal with for Trainor given how close she is with her father. Gary, who is also a musician, has notably been by the ‘Dear Future Husband’ singer’s side throughout her career.
He even surprised his daughter on The Voice UK, for which Trainor serves as a judge when he performed on the piano with Welsh singer Tom Jones. The Grammy Award winner didn’t hold back from praising her father during interviews.
Back in 2018, she described him as her guy and shared how he continues to inspire in a conversation with Today host Hoda Kotb.
She’s also shared that her father has encouraged her to carry on.
One of the lessons he’s taught her is that life can get better when one lets it. What more, he’s told her that there are many things a person can’t control in life.
However, one thing that she can control is how to look at situations and find the good in them.
Her father has also often been seen accompanying her during red carpet events.
He actually came as her plus one during the 2016 Grammy Awards, where she took home the trophy for Best New Artist.
Recalling the fateful night on Instagram, Trainor shared how her father told her that she made it before she walked up to claim her award.
Saying how much she loves her family, she wrote that she wouldn’t be that night without them.
