June 7th, 2022 marks a ‘disappointing day’ for the “Chrisley Knows Best” stars Todd and Julie. On this day, the jury made a verdict that the couples are proven guilty on all 12 counts. Earlier in 2019, Todd and Julie were indicted for bank fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy. Despite the couple denying the accusation, they were found guilty on all counts. Nevertheless, the sentencing from the jury has not been announced yet.
Following the decision of the court, the couple’s lawyer commented on the decision. “We are truly disappointed with the decision,” he said while talking to the local news correspondent. “Neither Todd nor Julie accept those false decisions. A follow-up appeal is underway to defend Todd and Julie.” Furthermore, the lawyer of Todd and Julie asserts that both of the accused deny the accusations and that they are planning an appeal to defend themselves.
Todd Calls it an Attempt of Revenge
In a lengthy statement, the “Chrisley Knows Best” star denied the accusations that were made against the pair. He accused Mark Braddock, the duo’s former employee, was trying to get revenge.
“He (Mark Braddock) has nothing authentic to prove against us,” Todd commented on the trial in 2019. “All he had were a few phony documents, that have no authenticity. What he did is he took these false documents to the American Attorney and alleged us of committing heinous crimes. Most of the crimes we have even not heard of. Things like bank fraud, tax evasion, and bank fraud.” Furthermore, Todd reiterated that his lawyer will be making their case in court and hopefully, the claim will be trashed away.
Todd’s Denial Was Challenged By An Attorney
Unfortunately, things did not end up the way Todd and Julie expected. On June 7, the pair was proven guilty on all 12 counts that were submitted by Mark Braddock. Following the denial from Todd, U.S. Attorney Annalise Peters alleged the two are lying about their net worth. “They (Julie and Todd) are hiding their real assets,” read the accusation from Peters. “These pairs have as much as $30 million in debt. But they are lying and doing whatever they can to hide the truth.”
Furthermore, Peters also claimed that as soon as Mark Braddock resigned from his position, they started hiding their funds from the IRS. However, further investigations from the court made the accusations against the duo sound truer than ever before. As a former employee of the two stars, Mark Braddock testified before the jury and consequently, the case was decided against Julie and Todd. Nonetheless, Todd and Julie Chrisley have not yet responded to the rule of the jury. Instead, it is the pair’s lawyer who has told a local news channel that the duo is planning an appeal against the judgment. As of now, it is too soon for us to jump to conclusions.
